One-Gallon Stoneware Jug, Stamped "A. STATES", Adam States II, Stonington, CT origin, first quarter 19th century, ovoid jug with footed base, tooled spout, and ribbed handle, featuring cobalt highlights to the maker's mark and handle terminals. A few shallow spout chips, one of which is glazed over. Two small surface flakes to handle, probably in-the-firing. Base chips. Spout chips. Some light wear to handle. A minor in-the-firing surface chip to front. Some faint crazing to front.
