One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Impressed Floral Decoration, Stonington, CT origin, early 19th century, ovoid jug with footed base, tooled shoulder, and heavily-tooled spout, decorated with an impressed and cobalt-highlighted design of a flower with scallop-edge leaves. Brushed cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, purchased by the consignor decades ago. Excellent condition with minor spout wear, small base chips, and some staining.
