Two Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Advertising Stoneware, Western PA origin, circa 1875, a half-gallon jug, stenciled "JOHN T. MILLER & SON/ WHOLESALE / LIQUOR DEALERS. / NO. 217 MARKET ST. W. / SIDE BET. SECOND & THIRD STS., / PORTSMOUTH. OHIO."; paired with a one-gallon cylindrical jar, stenciled "C. & H. HAST. / DEALERS / IN GROCERIES / & PRODUCE. / CUMBERLAND / MD.", decorated with freehand stripes. Jug with spout chips and a spider crack on front extending to side. Jar with wide spider crack from rim on side of jar, the rim secured with two old wires.
