Three-Gallon Stoneware Churn with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1840, tapered churn with flared collar and applied lug handles, decorated on the front and reverse with a brushed swag and hanging flower motif. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals and a wavy, curving line of cobalt below each handle. Includes wooden dasher. Also includes a loosely-fitting Baltimore stoneware churn lid, probably not original to the churn. Significant restoration. Unrestored rim chips. Lid with two chips.
