Ten-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar with Stenciled Eagle Motif, Stenciled "A.P. Donaghho / Parkersburg. W.V.", circa 1875, large-sized cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a stenciled design of a spread-winged eagle with banner, inscribed "Excelsior Pottery". Stenciled across the shoulder with the name, "A.P. Donaghho / Parkersburg. W.V." Base with stenciled "10" within a geometric border. A restored vertical crack on right side extending through handle. A restored vertical crack on reverse. H 19 1/4".
