Two Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware, Northeastern U.S. origin, 19th century, a tapered churn with cobalt-highlighted maker's mark and handle terminals, stamped "ORCUTT / AND / WAIT / WHATELY", MA origin, circa 1815-1817, paired with a two-gallon jug with cobalt floral decoration, stamped "N. CLARK, JR. / ATHENS, N.Y.", circa 1850. Churn missing left handle with small rim chips, large base chips, and a spider crack on underside, including one crack which extends from underside to shoulder area. Jug with chips to spout, some spots of fry to cobalt, and a small amount of old pink paint to reverse.
