Two Pieces of Stoneware with Cobalt Bird Decoration, White's Pottery, Utica, NY, circa 1870, a three-gallon jug with slip-trailed "running bird" motif and inverted "WHITE'S, UTICA" maker's mark, paired with a three-gallon crock with slip-trailed "running bird" motif and "WHITES. UTICA NY" maker's mark. Jug in very nice condition with some small in-the-firing flaws to surface, some traces of old tan-colored paint, and some sticker residue to surface. Crock with significant tacky staining to surface, rim chips, a large flake to underside along bottom edge, small base chips, and two handle chips.
