Stoneware Jug with Incised Notation, Stamped "POE & CO.", Fayetteville, NC, late 19th century, squat-shaped, cylindrical jug with narrow, stepped spout. Shoulder impressed one side "POE & CO." and incised on opposite side "13 II". Surface covered in an immature Albany slip glaze. A few glaze flakes to base area on reverse. Light wear to bottom edge. Jug did not reach temperature during the firing, resulting in a matte finish on much of the jug. H 9 1/4".
