Scarce and Fine Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Ring Bottle, NC origin, possibly Craven Family, fourth quarter 19th century, wheel-thrown, ring-shaped form with applied, tapered spout, decorated with a series of large cobalt daubs on one side and heavy cobalt slip applied to the opposite side, the surface covered in a clear salt glaze. An unusual form to find with cobalt decoration in Southern stoneware production. Excellent condition with a minor spout chip. Diameter 7 3/4".
