Five-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "McKENZIE & JACKSON / BEAVER, PA", circa 1855, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and semi-squared rim, decorated with a brushed design of two flowers emanating from a curved stem. Large cobalt highlights to handle terminals. A Y-shaped crack on underside, continuing up body of jar in two places. This crack forms a tight vertical spider crack, which ends below the left handle, and additionally forms a long vertical crack on reverse. A chip to interior of rim.
