Three-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, attributed to A. & W. Boughner, Greensboro, PA, circa 1860, cylindrical jar with semi-rounded rim, ribbed lug handles, and tooled accents to body and shoulder, decorated with two large leaf motifs between freehand stripes. Base with cobalt script "3" flanked by dashes. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. A salt drip to right side of jar's front. Some in-the-firing mottling to left side of jar's front. A 9 1/4" crack from rim on reverse. A thin 2" crack from rim on reverse. Small chips to interior of rim.
