Four-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt "Rabbit's Head" Decoration, Stamped "D WESTON / ELLENVILLE, NY", circa 1849-1875, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with an abstract slip-trailed design of a flowering plant resembling a rabbit's head. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. One handle restored. A 3" hairline from rim on front. A short, faint in-the-firing line on underside, not visible on interior.
