One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "NEW YORK / STONEWARE CO. / FORT EDWARD, N.Y.", circa 1875, cylindrical jug with tooled spout, decorated with a large slip-trailed design of a bird perched on a stylized branch. Cobalt highlight to maker's mark. Very nice condition with minor flaws as follows. A very minor base nick. A small in-the-firing ping to bird's beak. Some additional minor wear to cobalt on bird. Minor wear to base of handle. Some light staining.
