Two-Gallon Stoneware Syrup Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "FORT EDWARD / POTTERY CO.," Otto V. Lewis and George A. Satterlee, Fort Edward, NY, circa 1859, cylindrical jug with tooled and pinched pouring spout, decorated with a slip-trailed floral spray featuring two large circular blossoms surrounded by graduated trails. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. A 7/8" in-the-firing contact mark to reverse. Crazing to base area, underside, and handle. A chip to interior of rim, a large chip to interior of pinched spout, and a tiny chip to tip of pinched spout.
