Four-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, attributed to the Thompson Pottery, Morgantown, WV, circa 1865, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a looping vine motif, freehand stripes, and a foliate device flanking a freehand "4". Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Shallow chipping along right handle. Two small chips to left handle. Some surface wear to front.
