Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug with Wheeling, WV Advertising, Western PA origin, circa 1875, cylindrical jug with ribbed handle and tooling to shoulder and spout, featuring the stenciled advertising, "McCabe, Kraft & Co. / No. 50. / Main Street / Wheeling. / W.Va.". Freehand vining to shoulder. Base with cobalt script "2" flanked by dashes, underscored by a cobalt stripe. Horizontal crack at base, connecting to a tight spider crack on underside. Another, short line at base. Chips to molding at base of spout. Some staining.
