Two Cobalt-Stenciled Stoneware Jars, circa 1875, a canning jar with "wax sealer" rim, decorated with various stenciled designs, stenciled "HAMILTON & JONES. / GREENSBORO, PA"; paired with a one-gallon jar with stenciled rose and freehand stripe decoration, stenciled "RAGER LLOYD & CO. / PALATINE. W.VA.". Canning jar with a chip to side of rim and small chips to interior of rim. Other jar with lightness to stenciling and some in-the-firing mottling to base.
