Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jars, Baltimore, MD, 19th century, a two-gallon ovoid jar with squared rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a horizontal leafy stem bearing hanging flowers; paired with a cylindrical five-gallon jar, decorated on the front and reverse with a two-stemmed clover plant. Two-gallon jar with a 2 7/8" loss to base, additional base chips, some in-the-firing bloated spots to surface, and a 2 1/2" diagonal hairline from base. Five-gallon jar with some faint lines to reverse, not visible on interior, a chip to interior of rim, and a small in-the-firing ping to interior of rim.
