Six-Gallon Albany-Slip-Glazed Stoneware Churn, Stamped "O. HENRY POTTERY / Valdese, N.C.", circa 1937-1951, semi-ovoid churn with slightly-flared rim, the shoulder with applied open and lug handles, the surface covered in a chocolate-brown Albany slip glaze. Impressed with "O. HENRY POTTERY" maker's mark above a six-gallon capacity mark. Large pieces of applied clay on front. Heavy chipping to lug handle. Large recessed in-the-firing contact marks to another side. A 1 1/4" flake to interior of rim. Small chips to inner rim for lid. H 18 3/4".
