Two Stoneware Jars with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "A.E. SMITH & SONS, / MANUFACTURERS, / 38 Peck Slip, N.Y.", circa 1855, a one-and-a-half-gallon jar with triple-blossomed floral decoration, paired with a two-gallon jar with brushed floral motif. One-and-a-half-gallon jar with three thin cracks from rim, a few chips to interior of rim, a 1 1/2" chip to side of jar, a 3 1/2" Y-shaped line to underside, and a 1 1/2" in-the-firing chip to bottom edge. Two-gallon jar with a few chips to interior of rim, two nicks to exterior of rim, a base chip on reverse, and a black crayon or ink notation on underside.
