Two-Gallon Iron-Decorated Stoneware Jug with Impressed Hearts Motif, Stamped "CHARLESTOWN", attributed to Frederick Carpenter, Charlestown, MA origin, circa 1812-1827, ovoid jug with heavily-tooled spout, impressed at the shoulder with two hearts for two gallons, and dipped iron-oxide decoration to top and base. A 2 1/2" in-the-firing contact mark near base on side of jug. Other lesser in-the-firing contact marks.
