Three-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Incised Floral Decoration, CT origin, early 19th century, ovoid jug with heavily-tooled spout, decorated with an incised and cobalt-highlighted design of a flowering plant with dashed details and impressed circles between the petals. Brushed cobalt highlights to handle terminals. A horizontal crack around base with short cracks extending off from it. A few base chips. Top of spout with an in-the-firing contact mark and some minor crazing.
