Four-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Star Decoration, Stamped "ALBANY, N.Y.", possibly R. O'Connell, Albany, NY, circa 1860, cylindrical jug with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded spout, decorated with a slip-trailed star motif composed of a swirling circle surrounded by eight rays. Slip-trailed "4" to shoulder. Very nice condition with a small spout chip. A small surface chip with faint spider lines emanating from it. Some in-the-firing iron pings to surface.
