Two-Gallon Boston, MA Stoneware Advertising Jug with Elaborate Cobalt Capacity Mark, attributed to West Troy, NY, circa 1875, cylindrical jug with squared spout, featuring a large slip-trailed "2" with ornamental embellishments including foliate devices, dashes, and circles. Impressed at shoulder with the cobalt-highlighted advertising, "VINCENT & HATHAWAY. / 111 BROAD ST / BOSTON MASS". A small chip to side of spout. A 1 1/2" in-the-firing chip to underside at edge. Some staining. A few minor, typical in-the-firing flaws to surface.
