Two Stoneware Jars, American, circa 1860-1880, both of four-gallon capacity, an ovoid jar with tall collar and cobalt tulip decoration, attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, paired with an ovoid jar with hanging swag and floral motif, Southeastern PA origin. Remmey jar with large broken and reglued section from rim, extending under one handle, with touch-up to cobalt under handle. Additionally, a flake to one handle, and a shallow 1 1/2" in-the-firing base chip and smaller in-the-firing base chip. Other jar with a 1 1/4" rim chip, a small in-the-firing surface chip to body, and some water glass staining.
