Two Pieces of Greensboro, PA Stoneware, circa 1875, a tapered canning jar, stenciled "J. HAMILTON & CO. / GREENSBORO / Pa", paired with a one-gallon jug. stenciled "HAMILTON & JONES / GREENSBORO. PA" in a scrolled pattern. Provenance: Collection of Harry Meyer, McDonald, PA. Canning jar in excellent condition with light wear to cobalt and a black marker numerical code on underside. Jug missing handle, with 5 1/2" crack to right of stenciling and the long black marker notation on underside, "Found in Woods / near Beulah Church, / Greene County, Pa., / While grouse-hunting / November / 1970".
