Five-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "WM E. WARNER / WEST-TROY", NY State origin, circa 1850, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, heavily-decorated with an artistic, slip-trailed floral motif featuring two tulips flanking a daisy, all emanating from a central stem with large-leafed base. Exceptional detail throughout, including spots to tulips, scrolled embellishments to daisy petals, and comma-like strokes to the leaves. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. A restored top-to-bottom crack from rim on reverse, beside right handle, with some possible, additional restoration to right handle. A 1 3/8" flake to underside at edge. Minor base chips.
