Two-Gallon Glazed Redware Jar, Galena, IL origin, second half 19th century, ovoid jar with flared rim, the exterior surface covered in a speckled lead-and-manganese glaze, the interior surface covered in a clear lead glaze with light-orange and green mottling. Impressed "2" at shoulder. Provenance: From a long-term private collection of Galena, IL redware consigned to this auction. Two cracks to rim on reverse, measuring 7" and 4 1/2". A 1 3/4" rim chip, a minor rim chip, and rim wear. Some surface wear. H 11 3/4".
