Four-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "S.T. BREWER / HAVANA.", NY State origin, circa 1855, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed design of curved stem bearing four spotted flower blossoms, along with bullseye motifs to the left and right. Cobalt highlights to the maker's mark, capacity mark, and handle terminals. A crack across underside, continuing a short distance onto base on both sides of the jar.
