Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Iron-Oxide Decoration, Stamped "BOSTON", Frederick Carpenter, Boston, MA, early 19th century, ovoid jug with heavily-tooled spout and base, decorated with a dipped iron-oxide slip decoration to upper and lower portions of the jug. A drilled hole in base. Chips to base. Shallow chipping to spout. In-the-firing flaws (chips, clay residue, and iron pings) to shoulder and handle.
