Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Large Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "E. FOWLER / BEAVER, PA", circa 1870, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, flattened rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a large brushed fuchsia design between two stripes, applied over slip-coated clay. Heavy cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Provenance: Collection of Harry Meyer, McDonald, PA. An in-the-firing 2 3/4" separation on interior of rim. Stained spots to surface. An in-the-firing contact mark to far left side of jar's front.
