Rare Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Inscribed "Benjamin Green", Ohio origin, circa 1840, ovoid jug with squared spout, decorated with a brushed design of a flower with wavy line on interior of blossoms and spotted leaf. Brushed "2" to shoulder. Shoulder with incised script name, "Benjamin Green". Excellent condition with a minor spout nick, light spout wear, and a minor, glazed-over ding to spout, as well as a stripe of old black paint to base.
