Stoneware Canning Jar with Powhatan, Ohio Advertising, Western PA origin, circa 1875, tapered jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded "wax sealer" rim, featuring the stenciled cobalt advertising, "From E.J. Zinn / Powhatan, / Ohio.", surrounded by stenciled vines and flourishes. A 3/4" flake to underside at edge. A 1" flake to inner wax sealer rim and other very minor wear to inner wax sealer rim. A hairline to underside, continuing 1 1/8" onto base, where it forms a Y. A small glazed-over stone ping to front. H 8 1/4".
