Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Chicken Waterer, attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1875, domed for with tooled shoulder, stepped finial, and applied covered watering trough, decorated on the reverse with two cobalt leaves and around the edge of the trough with a leaf and three cobalt accents. Two chips to finial. Two chips and a 1 3/8" surface line to edge of trough. A base chip and tiny base nick A salt drip to outer edge of trough. Some in-the-firing mottling and crazing to surface. H 10 1/4".
