Three-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Rabbit Decoration, Stamped "JULIUS NORTON / BENNINGTON VT", circa 1841-1844, cylindrical jug with semi-squared spout, decorated at the shoulder with a brushed design of a leaping rabbit. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. A desirable Norton family motif. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with in-the-firing faintness to decoration and a few minor iron pings to surface.
