Four-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "E & L P NORTON / BENNINGTON VT.", circa 1870, semi-ovoid jar with applied lug handles and semi-rounded rim, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a bird perched on a floral spray. Light cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Some staining to surface. Some faint crazing to shoulder area on front.
