One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "HAXSTUN, OTTMAN & CO. / FORT EDWARD, NY", circa 1875, semi-ovoid jug with tooled shoulder and thick, semi-squared spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a bird perched on a stylized branch. Excellent condition with a tiny nick to reverse side of spout, a minor in-the-firing iron ping to reverse, and some very short, in-the-firing lines to base, which are glazed over.
