Two Glazed Redware Articles with Tin Make-Do Handles, probably PA origin, 19th century, a pipkin with vertically-sponged manganese decoration and coggled shoulder, paired with a mug with spattered manganese decoration. Both with tin make-do handles. Pipkin with tight cracks in underside, part of which extend onto base, a rim chip on reverse, and a minor spout nick. Mug in excellent condition with a minor base nick. Provenance: From a small New England collection consigned to this auction. H (of pipkin) 3 7/8" ; Diameter (across top) 6 1/2" ; H (of mug) 3 1/2".
