Two Glazed Redware Jugs with Tin Make-Do Handles, American, 19th century, an ovoid jug with dark-brown, lead-and-manganese glaze, New England origin, paired with an ovoid jug with iron-flecked lead glaze and heavily-tooled shoulder, probably Pennsylvania origin. Both with tin make-do handles, the larger jug with additional 19th century lead restoration to spout. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market lot, from a small New England collection consigned to this auction. Shorter jug with some whitish residue to surface and two short cracks in spout. Taller jug with some light glaze wear to surface. H (of taller jug, to top of handle) 7".
