Open-Handled Redware Jar with Lid, probably Pennsylvania origin, second or third quarter 19th century, ovoid jar with footed base, flared rim, and open strap handles, the surface decorated with spattered manganese and covered in a clear lead glaze. Jar includes fitting redware lid with lead and manganese glaze. Jar with small chips and wear to interior of rim, some light wear to handles, and a few small glaze flakes to one side. Lid in excellent condition with typical minor wear to tip of finial and outer edge. H (to top of lid) 8 1/4".
