Glazed Redware Flask with Elaborate Copper and Manganese Decoration, American, circa 1840-1880, wheel-thrown form with flattened sides, tapered spout, and incised circular line accents on the front and reverse, the surface profusely-decorated with alternating copper and manganese sponged designs under a clear lead glaze. Excellent form and decoration. Provenance: A recently-surfaced example, consigned from Illinois. Excellent condition with some spout wear and an approximately 4 1/4" tight line along edge, possibly in-the-firing. H 5 1/2".
