Very Rare Half-Gallon Iron-Decorated Stoneware Jug with Impressed Design, Stamped "S. AMBOY. N. JERSY", Thomas Warne and Joshua Letts, South Amboy, NJ, early 19th century, small-sized, highly-ovoid jug with heavily-tooled spout, the front decorated with an impressed, scallop-edged drape motif, highlighted in reddish-brown iron slip. Impressed above with the large maker's mark, "S. AMBOY N. JERSY", brushed over in iron slip. Additional brushed iron slip highlights to handle terminals. Exceptional size.
