Two West Virginia Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jars, circa 1875, a canning jar with wax sealer rim, stenciled "A. CONRAD / SHINNSTON / W. VA", paired with a half-gallon cylindrical jar, stenciled "A.P. Donaghho, / Parkersburg, W.Va.". Provenance: Collection of Lorren Lambert, Staunton, VA. Conrad jar with small chips to interior of rim and inner wax sealer rim, as well as a small chip to exterior of rim, faintness to stenciling, and some minor firing flaws. Donaghho jar with tight spider cracks to underside and base, a few in-the-firing contact marks to surface, and a small spot of glaze residue between the "A" and "R" in "PARKERSBURG". H (of Conrad jar) 6 3/4".
