Three-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "HAMILTON & JONES. / GREENSBORO. PA", circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and semi-rounded rim, the front featuring large and ornate Hamilton & Jones maker's stenciling with straight and wavy freehand stripes above. Base with cobalt script "3" flanked by dashes, underscored by a freehand stripe. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Significant restoration to reverse leading to a sealed crack on underside.
