Two Pieces of Cobalt-Stenciled Stoneware, WV origin, circa 1875, a large canning jar with "wax sealer" rim, featuring the stenciled signature "PALATINE POTTERY CO. / PALATINE / W.VA" surrounding a stenciled pear; paired with a one-gallon jar, stenciled "E.B. TAYLOR / Richmond, Va.", attributed to A.P. Donaghho, Parkersburg, WV. Palatine jar with heavy shallow chipping to interior of rim, one minor chip to exterior of rim and some light exfoliation to reverse. Taylor jar in excellent, essentially as-made condition with some staining.
