Wheeling, WV Stoneware Advertising Canning Jar, Greensboro, PA origin, circa 1880, cylindrical jar with recessed wax sealer rim, stenciled with the cobalt advertising: J.E. MORRIS. / DEALER IN / STAPLE / & FANCY / GROCERIES. / NO. 119, SIXTEENTH ST. / WHEELING. W.V.". Provenance: Collection of Lorren Lambert, Staunton, VA. A 1 3/4" restored line from rim on front, descending from a small restored rim chip. Three fairly large, in-the-firing chips to bottom edge. One small in-the-firing chip to bottom edge. A small chip and a few minor nicks to interior of rim. Two tiny nicks to inner wax sealer rim. H 6 1/2".
