Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug with Pittsburgh, PA Advertising, Western PA origin, circa 1885, ovoid jug with tooled spout, featuring the stenciled advertising, "T.D. CASEY & CO. / WHOLESALE / LIQUOR / DEALERS. / NO. 971 LIBERTY ST / PITTSBURGH. PA". Additional straight and wavy line decoration to front, along with a freehand "2" flanked by dashes at base. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, from a small collection of Pittsburgh advertising stoneware consigned to this auction. Excellent, essentially as-made condition.
