Large-Sized Stoneware Canning Jar with Stenciled Floral Decoration, Western PA origin, circa 1875, cylindrical jar with recessed wax sealer rim, the front decorated with two stenciled designs of scrolled vines culminating in small stenciled flower blossoms. Provenance: Collection of Lorren Lambert, Staunton, VA. A thin, approximately 2" crack on underside, continuing 3 1/2" up side of jar. Two chips to inner wax sealer rim. A 2 1/4" hairline from rim on side of jar. A very faint, approximately 2" surface line from rim on front, not visible on interior. H 8 3/8".
