Scarce Stoneware Canning Jar with Stenciled Cobalt Star Decoration, Western PA origin, circa 1875, tapered jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded "wax sealer" rim the front decorate with a large stenciled design of a star featuring a second, cobalt-highlighted star on its interior. A desirable Western Pennsylvania motif. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with a few tiny nicks to inner wax sealer rim. H 8 1/2".
