Scarce One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Elizabethville Pa Advertising, Stamped "F.H. COWDEN / HARRISBURG", PA origin, circa 1880, ovoid jug with tooled spout, featuring the incised and cobalt-highlighted inscription, "Weaver & Son / Elizabethville Pa / Not to be sold". Shoulder impressed with F.H. Cowden maker's mark. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, purchased by the consignor approximately forty years ago. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with an Albany slip drip to handle and reverse.
